Keyboard adaptor plug or cheap new one

My work gave me a laptop so that I can work from home. I find it difficult to use the keyboard on the laptop and prefer to use a stand alone keyboard. Was looking to buy a mouse and keyboard set cheaply when I was clearing out at home and found a keyboard from an old computer. Problem it has a round purple coloured plug which does not fit the laptop.
Does anyone know where I can buy an adaptor cheaply. Found some on ebay which I think are correct but are charging around £4.00 postage.
Or has anyone seen a keyboard and mouse set really cheap.
Thanks

99p here - I searched 'ps2 to usb adapter' - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PS2-PS-2-to-USB-Adapter-Converter-Mouse-Keyboard-/230655732063?forcev4exp=true0

Or for a laptop, why not have a look at some of the smaller format wireless keyboards (eg without the numeric pad most people never use anyway) plus wireless mouse kits? You can travel with them without needing a huge bag and loads of cables etc (they use a small USB dongle) so you can still work well on the move if you want to. Plenty of manufacturers, I personally rate the Microsoft brand hardware rather highly, but Logitech, Belkin plus a load of others in this space. Have a fiddle with some in Maplin/PCWorld.0
