    Cut the moulded plug off and put a rewireable one in its place.

    Looking at the installation it may well have been installed long before there were issues with moulded plugs. This along with the comment that sockets should be 150mm rather than shall would mean that a building surveyor or electrician would not have considered it a noteworthy item. The building and electrical regulations do not give any hard and fast rules and as such there would be no come back on anyone who had inspected the installation.

    The only way I could see of installing an angled socket would be to obtain some panel mounted sockets which mount in a circular cutout.
