Buying bathroom stuff on the continent

Can we buy a WC, a shower etc from France to use here for our new bathroom? Would they fit UK plumbing?
Looking at Leroy Merlin, BUT, Bricorama websites - their prices, for items we need to purchase, are considerably cheaper than in the UK, even with the current Homebase 50% off sale. We can go there and back in one day. Has anyone tried doing this? Are there any hidden problems?
We plan to buy a WC, a shower, tiling, bathroom furniture etc.
