I had a credit card with American express, which I closed about five years ago, how can i find out if i paid any PPI, and if so, how do i claim it back?

To establish if you paid any PPI, refer to your statements. Any PPI will be on there.
To claim it back, you need to write and complain to the provider, explaining why you consider the insurance was originally mis-sold to you.
