DSA books for new driver - which to get?

Both my wife and I will be starting driving lessons when we get back from our holiday in a few weeks.

It's also my wife's birthday and while it's not massively romantic, I'd like to get her/us a few books that will help us with driving theory etc. (before I'm told off, she already has a real prezzie :rotfl: )

Out of the following DSA titles, which are [STRIKE]essential[/STRIKE] useful for a pair of nervous new drivers?

1. The Official DSA Theory Test for Car Drivers and the Official Highway Code 2012
2. The Official DSA Guide to Driving: The Essential Skills
3. Know your traffic signs (Driving Skills)

They get good reviews, but are there any better options?

Personal choice. What suits one person may not suit another.

They will all cover the basics.

I got my daughter the official highway code and a AA pack on offer at the book store.

Practical DVD's with hazard tests are also useful. Plenty of those around.

Did hear rumours of them being stopped?

Add "Roadcraft" to your list, it should be included with every provisional licence.
