HI,
i'm asking for my dad and i have no idea about this at all as i've never had an overdraft/debts.
If my dad had an 0% balance transfer card and he transfered his overdraft debt on to that to cut it down/pay it off/not my charged interest like he currently is, can he still use it like a regular card, IE direct debits, ordering things online etc?
Sorry to sound stupid, but i'm trying to help him, but i'm starting from fresh.

Yes he can use it like a normal card.
However it is never advisable to use a card you have a balance transfer on for purchases etc.
The most expensive debt is paid off first, which would be the purchases etc.
Best option would to get two cards one for BT and one for purchases etc.0 -
But he uses the money that's being paid off for purchases etc
Ah i don't get this! Save, save, save, save.0 -

You can't use a balance transfer to pay off an overdraft.
You need a special type of transfer often called a money or funds transfer. 0% offers on these are unusual. mbna cards are the most likely to offer them.
The operation of the current account will be completely unaffected by how payments are made into it, if you go down this route. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
