Then the Bank will respond with the "truth" as they see it. This will be a copy of his signature on a form detailing the PPI agreement or other such evidence they hold.He is just going to go with the truth, he didn't know he had it,
Not being able to remember taking out the insurance is not a valid mis-selling complaint, so unless you can somehow prove that the policy was added without his knowledge and/or permission this will be rejected.0 -

Why did you not quote the rest of the post were I said he was a student and couldn't use the payment protection if he was sold it?! We are not going to lie in anyway shape or form and if it was simply that he signed for It without realising then that is down to my partner and not the bank. However, if they sold him something knowing quite well he couldn't use it is down to the bank.
You are quite negative with all your comments and make out like people are simply lying to get money back that they are not owed. I noticed you got your back money from HSBC, how is it ok for you to make a claim against mis sold PPI yet for everyone else the bank will have evidence against them?!0 -

My claim was nothing like yours I'm afraid. It was both valid and above all verifiable. If you submit a complaint with valid and verifiable complaint reasons you too will be successful. You are quite negative with all your comments and make out like people are simply lying to get money back that they are not owed. I noticed you got your back money from HSBC, how is it ok for you to make a claim against mis sold PPI yet for everyone else the bank will have evidence against them?!
I've made no implication that you or anyone else is "lying",only that your potential complaint is likely to be rejected if it is only based on not being aware of the PPI.
I'm not "negative", simply realistic.
Please don't use the discussion forum for personal attacks or for comments about my posting history. I think the "Thanked" posts I've had speak for themselves.0 -
Once again, the claim isn't based on not remembering or being told about the PPI (all though this may be the case). It's the fact he could never claim on the insurance being a full time uni student, the same way someone who is retired, or self employed could never use it.
We shall see what happens, no harm in them investigating it for him.0 -
Oh and it was by no means a personal attack, it is just the way you come across in your posts that suggests you are negative towards other people who are trying to reclaim back PPI.0

Your comments are off-topic and irrelevant, I'm afraid, so I'm not going to respond to them any further.Oh and it was by no means a personal attack, it is just the way you come across in your posts that suggests you are negative towards other people who are trying to reclaim back PPI.
So use that reason alone and don't mention anything about not being aware of the insurance. It's the fact he could never claim on the insurance being a full time uni student, the same way someone who is retired, or self employed could never use it.0 -

I'll just revisit this thread because another "negative"We shall see what happens, no harm in them investigating it for him.
aspect of your complaint has come to mind.
When your partner was offered this personal loan from the Bank, how did he convince the Bank that he was able to pay it back? If he had a job of even 16 hours a week at the time of the sale, then he would indeed have been eligible to claim on his PPI policy. If he didn't have a job and had no other regular income, then why did the Bank offer the loan?0 -
Wow you must be racking your brains thinking of why he shouldn't get his ppi back, thank god you don't work for the banks!
No idea though why they gave him a loan when he wasn't working 16 hours a week? One for them to look into I guess. He did have a student account with them, so they knew he was a student. It was 10 years ago though.0 -
I have just been told by barclays who took over my egg credit card, that because i applied online for my credit card i must of checked the box asking for ppi. There is no way i would of intentionally done this ! But they have thrown out my claim anyway. Is there anything i can do ?0

If you weren't so intent on personally attacking me, you might have noticed that I've given you more ammunition to fire at the Bank. If your partner wasn't working when the Bank gave him a loan then the Bank did not check how he could afford the repayments and so the PPI was definitely mis-sold. However, be sure that your partner definitely wasn't working (part time at least 16 hours) before firing that first salvo.Wow you must be racking your brains thinking of why he shouldn't get his ppi back, thank god you don't work for the banks!
You can be sure, by the way, that the Bank will look far more stridently than me for reasons not to pay redress.
I'll leave it (and you) there....0
