Capital one - Application accepted then later cancelled?

in Credit cards
Hi,
I recently applied for the Capital One Aspire World credit card, application got accepted online signed the credit agreement and was told from the confirmation screen that my pin will be with me in the next few days.
After hearing nothing for a week I called their india call centre and was told that my application was cancelled?! WTH? They can't tell me why and only to wait for the letter?
Can anyone shed any light on what might be wrong? I got loads of credit cards over the years, application is always ok, I pay in full every month. No change in circumstances for the past few years.
The call centre is absolutely useless, with no power, no helpful information, and loves repeating from the script they use...."Thank you for your call. Have a lovely day!" ???!!!
No wonder some people apply for accounts only if the call centre is in the uk...

You may have answered your own question there. How many do you currently have and what are the limits compared to your income?0 -
I only got 1 active card, the rest were from 0% that I haven't used in ages. Current credit limit is less than 10% of my salary, however I don't believe that is the problem.
I just don't understand how I got accepted online then later told it is cancelled? What is the purpose of the credit agreement if they can then just cancel a week later?0 -
if accepted, normaly fraud checks fail themDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Barclaycard went through a phase of accepting and then declining. This is the first time I've noticed someone reporting the same tactics by Capital One.
You could try appealing their decision after you get the promised letter. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Remember that open accounts still count, whether you use them or not.0
