Lebara Prepaid Credit Card

I bought one of these cards to keep in my car so I would always have funds for petrol. I have twice tried to use them at the pay at pump stations and each time it has been rejected. I phoned Lebara and explained the situation only to be informed that they do not support the pay at pump way of taking money and therefore their cards will not work in them! Its a minor irritation as they work in chip and pin machines, but I just thought people should know - I recommended Lebara on the basis they could be used at pay at pump. Bit miffed to say the least!

It's an online card, as are all prepaid cards as far as I'm aware. This means it needs to contact the issuer every time it's used to authorise the transaction, you will find therefore it will not work where there is no phone line or internet connection (trains/planes). If it helps all credit cards are offline and some debit cards are offline depending on how the bank view your account and it's conduct.0
