Condemed house and (possible) leaking roof down a shared wall

Hello,
Im not sure if im in the right place to ask this (im sure a Mod will move it if not!) but I live in a back to back house and my next door neighbours house has just been condemed by the council. Next door is owned by a landlord and the tenant was on benefits. After speaking to the tenant (who has now left) he said this to me. He told me the roof was leaking and damaged the attic room (where the shared wall is).
I have damp down that wall and I (think!) it is due to this. What can I do? who would be best to contact? my insurance company? the council? the landlord?.
The house has now been done up and i think the landlord is geting new tenants in. I just wonder if the roof is fixed?
Any ideas or pointers would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Tim

Talk to the owner of the property next door, in the meantime have you checked your roof? Perhaps it is leaking too?0
