Garden Fence

can you confirm the kind of panels ? i thought you were talking about a close board fence but you said the panels slot in ie like a normal 6' panel from the sheds & in that case both sides are the same, which way are the slats on the panels side to side or up & down ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
The panels do slot in but they overlap on one side and have batons on the back. That's how the fence is on the other side of my daughter's garden but she's got the good side facing there with paying for that. It is easier to paint if there are no batons but that really isn't the problem though.
It's the 9ft high fence panel and the one the builder built which is really not acceptable that are the problem. My son-in-law has told the neighbour he isn't paying anything until he's satisfied so he's getting the builder back.
Hopefully it will be sorted to everyone's satisfaction.
Thanks to everyone who has offered advice and we'll see what happens now

Yes I know what you mean, the only thing it gives is whose boundary it is.
When it comes down to exactitude it's pretty worthless unless there are boundary markers literally embedded in stone;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

She is forgetting the bad side of the fence. It's the 9ft high panel by their house wall and the ugly frame the builder made but didn't cover with fencing that's the problem.
But she isn't forgetting what she calls the party fence which I suspect doesn't exist if you understand?
Without reading back op have you paid? if not forget this dribble from here. Pay him or don't pay him based on what he said he would do, and what he has actually done.;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

you cant have a 9' high fence without planning permission im sure 6' is the most without0

I wouldn't pay them anything, there are also laws on a legal right to light that should have been adhered to if the house is over 20 years old. You can easily find out about this online.
Her good will has been abused and ultimatley if reasonable persuasion doesnt work By asking them to make good the faults, it may ulitmatley as a last resort be worth sending a solicitors letter with some facts about the law in it. .
I've been looking things up about this recently as we are having some negotiation issues with a boundary fence with a religious establishment and it's worth getting conversant with the law is on these issues. It sounds like they've had a cowboy in and had the work done on the cheap, why should she pay if she is not happy with the workmanship! I'd also want to See all quotes, invoices and guarantees and receipts and ask why I wasn't consulted before the fence was put in.0 -
If two people are sharing the costs of a fence, they should be agreeing on the type, height and design of fence before any work gets done.
As the neighbour has gone ahead without any consultation, I don't think I'd be offering any money.0 -

Unfortunately that's in your suppositions, there is nothing that the op said that supports your view.
