Have to apologise....the code did work put it in after entered my card details. and it was accepted fine.
Thanks to OP0 -
code doesnt seem to work I've put in in the advert code box....says advert code not recognised
I paid by debit card, dont know if it matters, the offer is only available for the first 22,000 transactions and i'm not sure how long it's been available
here's what someone said about it on hot deals
"I have just called customer services and she tried out the code for me and it worked so she said it would be ok to use and that the price on the invoice would be the price we pay"0 -
having read the thread on hot uk deals (see HERE) there seem to be a lot of potential reasons why they can refuse, quite rightly, to honour this... terms and conditions attached to the voucher include that it cannot be redeemed against expensive electrical items (expensive being the subjective term there, the ps3 isnt exactly cheap, but they do sell more overpriced expensive items such as computers). and cannot be redeemed against sale items (the ps3 is reduced from £699 ( ) to £599
so whether empire will honour the code as their phone operatives have suggested remains to be seen.
for those that do go ahead, my advice would be not to break the seal of the box or the game until the account is settled in full. this way, if they do decide that they want to try and charge full price, you should be able to return the item under the distance selling regulations with little difficulty. if you have broken the security seals however, empire will be well within their rights to refuse to refund you AND then proceed to charge you their inflated price of £599know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
i think it's reduced but not in the actual sale. I did read one person bought a £1,300 laptop so i dont think the expensive item things is an issue, did u read the post about 'cloverleafs'? apparently anythin that isnt marked with a 'cloverleaf' means you can use the code. I wouldnt open the parcel until i know the exact amount. But it's illegal for them to send the parcel and charge you £599 without any notice surely!?!?!0

well your confirmation email states
1 SF8860 PS3 60GB PACK + CONTROLLER + RESISTANCE: FALL OF MAN (16+) £359.99
If they dont honor they should at least inform you that they wont send at that price or give you the option of buying at the higher price. I paid using my credit card so if they take the full amount i'll be sending my confirmation email with the price to my cc company0 -
i see it this way its either £359 or they don't get anything at all off me. and yes i have that confirmation line
