Big girls and wedding outfits - where do you get yours?

Try ebay for monsoon - you can often get new stuff for a fraction of the store price. I believe that there's an outlet store in Portsmouth too, might be worth a visit if you don't live too far away.0

House of Fraser's own label (can't remember what it's called sorry) goes up to a generous size 20 and has more formal attire0

Might be worth thinking about getting something made. That way it can complement the bride's outfit and you can have some control over shape etc rather than having to decide from a very limited range. If you have a semi formal dress already that you like a good dressmaker could copy it a bit. You also get to choose exactly the colour you want

I'm much bigger than you and have bought lovely, interesting things in great colours from Sahara - tho they aren't specially for larger sizes, but they do sort of floaty styles. Also try the mail order co (they have some shops too) Box 2 which has great wedding type things, tho a bit pricey, up to much bigger sizes than you need ! Happy hunting0

Hi Morganlefay, never heard of Sahara. Do they have a website, will be able to check where the stores are then.
Thanks everyone for your help, now I have a few more places to try thanks to all your tips.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -

Yes there is an outlet at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth although it isnt very big.
As an aside - I clicked that Evans link and they do have some lovely shoes and not expensive either. I notice it says they are all wide fit, my feet are kind of average width do you think these shoes would all be too big?0 -
I think this is perfect and cheap too....some other bargains on there too.

I generally take a 5.5 or a 6 in Clarks shoes - at Evans I take a 4!! My feet are not particularly wide. I would suggest you get measured at Evans for their shoes before buying them.
