Cancelled insurance refund.

Hello, Can someone tell me if this makes sense.

My Car insurance with Bedford insurance was cancelled by them. The premium was £1752 per year (I know!!!!)which I was meant to pay at £164 per month. I paid a deposit of £350.47 and one monthly payment has been paid. The insurance was in force from 1 August to 6th Septemer. They have now said that "After repaying your loan to "Premium Plus" there is no refund". Is this right?

Depends... why was it cancelled? That might be a good start. Did you cancel it or did they?

From there you need to look at the Terms and conditions of a refund. Usually it is a percentage of the annual premium. Chances are that percentage is what you've paid already so you will lose out.

As I said, you need to check though.

What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?
  • They cancelled it because i forgot to send driving licence to them before I went on holiday.

The problem now is £1752 will sound cheap when you declare you have had insurance cancelled.

And a failure to declare that will see more policies cancelled until none of them will touch you.

It will need to declared forever also.

Best to write/phone them and grovel a bit and get it reinstated.
