Possible non-payer.

Hi.
i am very new to ebay, and have a problem.
On 9/9 i sold an item, but its still not been paid for. On 12/9 i receieved a message saying that they would pay for it that evening, but still no payment.
Yesterday (14/9) i sent a gentle reminder,, asking for payment, but no answer thus far.

What should i do next?

  • Since it is more than 4 days since the sale, you should open a NPB case.
I have a feeling your buyer will continue to mess you around. Open a case and do not leave any feedback even if they eventually pay.
  • i would wait 7 days and then send another reminder and then open an NPB. most sellers wait a week. I've had people say can they pay after 4 days for various reasons. You don't want to open a case too soon and they pay and leave you negative....that is unless you stated in your listing that payment needs to be made within 4 days...or less.

I would open a NPB case now. Especially in view of the fact that they said they would pay two days ago and haven't.

I always open cases on day 4 if buyers haven't paid. That is long enough too wait, especially as they have a further 4 days to pay after a case has been opened. So 8 days in total.

There is no need to put in your auctions that you need payment in 4 days, that is implied by the fact that eBay allow the claim to be started that early.

I also don't think that 'most' sellers wait a week or more before opening a case, most of us are too busy selling to pander to slow payers.

OP get the case opened now, that still gives your buyer 4 days today. The sooner you get the case open the quicker it can be closed and you can relist
