First time visitors with 3 nights in Bangkok in mid November and really fancy this hotel.

http://www.travelzoo.com/uk/local-deals/International/Getaway/25013?utm_source=top20_uk&utm_medium=email

All set just to go ahead and book it, but just realised I am buying 3 x £79 vouchers from Travelzoo. Travelzoo don't seem to be asking me for my dates, just specify deal period.
We are very date-specific.

Do I book direct with the hotel next? What if my dates are not available? There is an email address to check if demand is high??? I originally thought I would be paying to book my stay; I don't think I am am I? I'm buying a voucher to book up in the future at that rate, am I not?

Feel sure I'm missing something. Can anyone advise , please? I notice Travelzoo offer a 7 day refund policy, so presumably if I can't get the dates I need, I get a my money back?

Thanks Guys!

Thanks! That is the hotel , however a comparable room would be £89 and Agoda's rates exclude taxes and fees so add on another £18.50ish per night and there is no breakfast included in that rate!

Anybody used a Travelzoo offer for this kind of booking can advise please?

    Yes I have.

You can either call the hotel and ask if there is availability for booking with TZ vouchers for your dates. Remember to mention the vouchers as there is usually limited rooms available for voucher bookings.

Or you can buy the vouchers and if you cannot get the dates you want, apply to TZ for a refund within 7 days of buying.

    Ok thanks Luci.

Have just been doing a bit more checking out and getting my head round it a bit more now! Had just emailed the hotel to check availability, mentioning offer. Think I will wait to hear back first. I am doing the researching and the booking, but it's going on my partner's credit card, so would be mortified if I messed-up.

Hotels are notoriously bad at replying to emails and I certainly wouldn't rely on getting an answer. Personally I would call them up and will only cost pennies using the MSE International Call Checker.

Appreciate your advice, Luci! Have found a cheap international number as suggested. Their reservations dept is closed now, if I don't get an email reply, I will ring them again when open tomorrow. Thanks!

You need to bear in mind the time difference when you are calling overseas.
  • The way it works is you buy the voucher, pay TravelZoo £79, then book with the hotel using the instructions provided, and within the date period the voucher is valid. You pay the hotel nothing because you've already paid Travelzoo

  • Dear Bronnie

Thank you for showing interest in one of our Getaway. I work for the Customer Support Team at Travelzoo. Simply, you purchase the vouchers from us and then you contact the hotel to book your dates. We do have a seven day refund policy and if you would like to contact me direct, I will explain how it all works in greater detail. You can email me direct on amclean@travelzoo.com or call the Local Deals Customer Support Team on 020 3564 3000 and ask for me. Thanks, Alastair McLean
