eBay Vouchers

My friend has received an eMail from eBay for 10% off anything on eBay, which is valid this week - until 18th Sept if I remember correctly. Has anyone else received one? I am just wondering if eBay select users at random or if I have missed out due to opting out of eBay eMails?

They send them out to random people. And the code will only work for those that its been given to.
So dont be tempted to use it. It may discount at purchase but will get charged to you later.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

How does this work? Surely it can't be 10% off EVERYTHING on e-bay.
If someone wins one of my auctions and say they want 10% off because they have a voucher will e-bay get upset if I tell the buyer to get lost (politely of course).0 -
I've had vouchers like these before and the discount is automatically shown on the listing page. It states the original price and then what you would pay after the discount. In the past all my vouchers have been for particular categories eg fashion and from well known sellers eg littlewoods0

Yes I've got one - and it's 10% of everything - I had one last year as well.
It's been issued for my 'selling' account, but I didn't get one for my 'buying' account, so it's probably targeted at accounts without much buying activity.
Having fun deciding what to buy!0 -

Ebay cover the 10% difference. So the Seller is not losing 10% value of their sale.0 -

I don't appear to have one, on either selling or buying account."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I haven't got one on my two accounts either, or on my OH's two accounts. I wonder if they select users who haven't purchased for a while.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0

I've got one on my personal account and not my business account (which is not surprising). I have purchased recently on my personal account.0
