two iva questions.

We are just going into an iva.
Does that mean phone contracts will be hard to renew and also car insurance renewal?

Regarding phone contracts if you stick with your current provider you shouldn't have any issues but you would be unlikely to get a new contract with someone else as they usually credit check.

Insurances vary. If you pay monthly and stick with the same insurer then it will continue fine, if you want to change some people seem to have no issue others do (we did) we couldn't renew car insurance with a different insurer without paying for the full year in one go, but I know others in an IVA have had no problems so its a bit of a gamble really!

During my IVA I went to a Pay as you Go contract on my phone because it was cheaper, so not sure whether it will affect this. I had no problem getting insurance, but did have a problem switching utility suppliers, and had to stick with the ones I was with until the IVA completed. I could have switched supplier but they wanted several hundred pounds as a deposit, which obviously I couldn't afford being in an IVA.

car insurance wont be a bother I swap whenever I see something cheaper but phone conracts may be difficult as they credit check.

Greenbrucelee is right, dont change your phone contract if possible and use a comparison web site for your car insurance, worked for me so far.
