Unfortuanly you wont be able to have the judgment removed, it will stay on your file until June 2016.

You could phone the county court and ask them for further information, hopefully it will be a debt which you have proof of being settled, if so, then the judgment will be marked as 'Settled' and will have less impact on your file.

All court judgements are recorded by the court, and forwarded to Registry Trust who make a precis of the information available to their subscribers (the CRA's).

They also have set up a side business (like the CRA's) to make what as previously 'public' information, a money-spinner. And it is there you need to pay for a copy of the judgement.

Hopefully, that will provide the inf you need.

Sounds like a default judgment, ie no defence was entered. If the OP can obtain details of the judgment and is convinced that the debt had been paid off (or nothing was due), then it might be possible to have the judgment set aside and the claim restarts. If the OP is then successful in defending the claim (or the claimant withdraws) then it can be removed from the file.

Explanation in this link on grounds for possible set-asides.

How to set aside a judgment in the county court

Regards finding details of the claimant, it's often easiest to request details from the court itself. Assuming they will disclose them, which if you can show you are the defendant they usually will.

Sorry about this incorrect poster, we often get people posting on here who post but haven't got a clue what they are talking about.

If as you say you don't know what its about and had no paper work then as others have said you can apply to Northampton to get it set aside.

The is a fee for this, but worth doing it
