who can witness signature

Buying a property and need to fill to sign the TR1 form,,,, who can be the witness to the signatures,,, seem to read it yesterday were it stated can not be witnessed by immediate family but i have read it again and do not see it,,,, so could the conveyancer be the witness???? or do i need to get a freind to be witness???

    Anyone can witness as long as they provide their contact details. A next door neighbour, the MD at your office, anyone. The witness cannot be an immediate relative or married to you.

    Don't use Doctors, they charge £30 a time....

  • I asked a work colleague to sign mine.
  • I was asked to witness a signature (student let contract) as I passed through reception when I was living in halls - not sure asking a random person off the street is the best idea, but apparently it's permissible!
