Tesco parking policy

Options
What is Tesco's car parking policy? Do you have a certain amount of time until you get a ticket? Can you use the car park and go into town, even if i just bought a bag of crisps from them?
Thanks.

It depends which ppc they use.

My local one is 3 hrs, the one a few miles away is an hour and a half.

Either way if its ppc controlled then you can do what you want when you want and there's burger all they can do about it. However I would say dont abuse the car parking facilities for those that genuinely do shop there, if you are parked there all day then thats taking the mikey if theres only a three hour limit.

It depends, it is different in each store due to more than just policy.

At a Tesco where my niece happily collected and laughed at a fake PCN, you are actually allowed to shop elsewhere (and NOT necessarily in Tesco at all) due to the planning consent at the time the store was built. The local Council only let Tesco build there if people could use the car park for local shopping.

And that car park is always full. The PPC doesn't help this situation at all because their idea of 'parking management' is to put cameras up and post out fake PCNs afterwards. Not really going to keep the car parking spaces optimised, not really going to help make sure disabled bays are there for disabled people.

None of that is their priority it seems, just fake parking ticket extortion.

In another Tesco I know there is no time limit, no private parking scum. But they have actually provided enough spaces for the size of the very large store and enough disabled bays too, so the car park functions perfectly well. It's only too busy at Christmas and they pay temporary staff to point out the empty spaces. No PPC, no extortion.

Bottom line is, never take seriously a fake PCN from any private parking co.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
