Hi,
My partner has recently got a part time job doing 10 hours a week. As this is under 16 hours a week, should we still inform HMRC? Would our child tax credits be reduced?
Thanks

you should inform them of any change.
the 16 hours only applies in respect to childcare. of both parents ( or a single parent) works 16 hours or more, they may be entitled to help with chikldcare0 -
You do need to let them know.
Your income can increase by up to £10,000 without affecting this year's award (£5,000 from 2013).
Your higher income will mean that you get less next year (by 41% of the increase in earnings), but you'll still be better off overall.0 -
Ok, thanks. I was more concerned in them reducing child tax credits.0
