you may have a decision there and then, but sometimes the evidence is not clear and they may adjourn for GP/consultants reports.
relax they are not the DWP, they are there purely to assess the level of award if your entitled to it and meet the descriptors.
they will ask a few questions, take on bourd anything someone who you take with you as back up say, and then decide from there.0 -

I'll grab a video for you.. it's made by the tribunals service precisely regarding ESA appeal.
Do note that if you exhibit the symptoms of your illness then that shouldn't do your case any harm at all. The appeal tribunal will be interested in your evidence.. your oral evidence.. but just tell them the truth and do not play down your problems or try to hide the symptoms. Make sure you have read and understood the evidence and criteria for ESA that is relevant in your case.
Chances are you'll get a decision from the tribunal the same day.. probably within a very short time after the hearing... they may well just ask you to wait outside while they decide. But as above.. no guarantees. They'll give you a results slip on the day or send you one in the post... they'll also send one to the DWP who will probably take a couple of weeks or sometimes months to process it.... as the DWP might throw in delays then if you are supplying sicknotes currently then continue to do so until the DWP do process the result.

If the appeal result is not as you'd hoped then you could return here for advice."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0 -
