Cp plus charge notice

Hi all

A £50 charge notice was put on my windscreen for parking in a restricted area. This area is for buses only although everyone parks there including police, fire and ambulance vehicles with no charge notice given (i have photographic evidence). I wrote to them telling them I was not driving and I don't know who was and good luck. As you can guess I have had a series of letters back threatening to take action and make me tell. Alot of ifs, but and maybes on their letters. I have had my 4th letter today threatening the possibility of bailifs, court and additional costs. My wife is getting worried although I have told her not to.

Do I continue to ignore is my question?

Cheers

  • The final but more unpleasant threats usually include mentioning that, if the case goes to court, a county court judgement (CCJ) may be issued, that bailiffs may be appointed and that your credit rating may be ruined. For things to actually get to this stage, the car park owner would have to take you to court and win the case. Then, you would have to refuse to pay, to get a CCJ issued after 28 days. Then, you would have to still refuse to pay, to get bailiffs appointed.

There are also now landmark court cases, VCS Parking Control vs. Ronald Ibbotson, S!!!!horpe, 2012, HM Revenue & Customs vs. VCS Parking Control, Lower Tax Tribunal, 2012 and VCS Parking Control vs. HM Revenue & Customs (Appeal), Upper Tax Tribunal, 2012. In these cases, the judges ruled that only the car park owner can charge for parking and take alleged offenders to court. The Upper Tax Tribunal is equivalent to the High Court and, therefore, its judgements set legal precedents. No private ticketing company or car park owner has taken any alleged offender to court since.

Continue to ignore everything you get from them. Soon, they’ll run out of empty threats and stop throwing good money after bad.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

    Ronnie,

I have personally ignored CP Plus on many many many occasions. I have a thick pile of automated threatening letters from them and then their follow up debt collectors Debt Recovery Plus and then Zenith Collections (Debt Recovery Plus pretending to be someone else!!).

Tell your wife not to worry. CP Plus are just a bunch of chancers trying it on. They make money by lies and intimidation, pretending to have authority on their side and generally scamming people who have no knowledge of this subject.

Consider: If they wrote to you saying that as you have broken one of their rules they would like you to send them lots of money you'd probably think 'get lost' and either ignore them completely or call them and tell them to eff off. That does't get them their posh BMWs and Florida holiday homes does it? so they have come up with the 'clever idea' of trying to confuse people into thinking that their Parking Charge Notices have all the same authority of a council or police Penalty Charge Notice. That way they can frighten people into giving them money to avoid 'getting into trouble'.

Their Parking Charge Notices are nothing more than very rude begging letters. The threats they include are there to make victims worry and to hand over money.

    Getting the picture???

I suggest you do as and many many others on here do.... Ignore them completely, don't give them your money AND warn as many friends, family and colleagues as possible about the current scammers that are infesting private car parks.

If you need reassurance as each letter arrives come back here and you'll get lots of support. Who knows, you many even progress to the level where you look forward to the next letter arriving, like myself, and laugh at the thought of the scammers throwing money away trying to intimidate you into giving them some of your hard earned cash.

Sorry for any offence the above images may cause, unless you're a scammer.
  • My vehicle has now earned 2 letters from CP Plus because it parked too long in Morrison's Car Park. After reading the advice on this site I am going to ignore them. I wasn't even with my naughty car at the time it did this, but have asked it nicely not to do it again.

Daft thing is, you cannot pay to park in our Morrison's, so how they have come to the conclusion that my car owes them £90 for the privilege is beyond me. I am also rather annoyed that Morrison's own CCTV signs do not state they have cameras for parking infringement. Is that breaking the DPA?

My local Morrisons has both a 2-hour time limit, and CP Plus.

It also has a restaurant. Quite plainly anyone doing a big weekly shop and having lunch could easily go over 2 hours.

Talk about thick on Morrison's part. "How dare you spend too much time and money with us!"

You have to ask the logic of shops with these scammers in the car park, it's this simple, do the retailers want the £90 in their tills or in the parking companies pockets ?
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

My experience with CP Plus after over staying at a motorway services -

    3 letters from CP Plus,

    then,

3 letters from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd,

over a period of four months, since the time of the alleged contravention, to the date of the last (6th) letter.

Last letter came over six months ago, and not heard from them since.

Unfortunately my Morrisons is in a part of town where there's no point in going other than to Morrisons, so there's no way I can idle away a couple of hours there (the restaurant's horrible TBH). I've tried parking on the white lines, but that hasn't got me a ticket yet, and I'm not going to park in the disabled spaces. Maybe I'll have to try parking sideways across two spaces!
