Are there ongoing problems with NatWest?

I know there were a lot of problems with NatWest banking a while ago and I thought I was lucky enough to have been unaffected, however this month I have just had 5 cheques paid out of my account all at once which has left me 1K overdrawn.
These are cheques for services that I pay out on a monthly basis (and have done so for years). I would be very surprised (and upset) if the person to whom I pay these cheques has negelected to pay them in until this month. I am trying to contact them to ask.
But in the meantime could this possibly be a knock on effect from all the earlier banking problems NatWest has had? I've tried to google, but not come across much that is current.

It is of cause possible but officially they said some time ago that the backlog of payments were all cleared and secondly if these are monthly cheques and 5 have gone in together then at least one of those cheques predate the issues so it does sound more like that the person you sent them to sat on them before depositing0

Can you not see from previous statements/history whether these cheques have been cashed already.
I obviously don't know your circumstances but I'd love to be in a position not to know that £200 a month hadn't been taken0 -
If there are 5, some would have been prior to problems - everything is running fine now anyway so looks like they may have paid them all in at once0

Thank you. You are indeed both right. I have finally ascertained that indeed the person in question has cashed them all in at once :mad:0 -
Erm yes I can, and they hadn't. It was the fact that they had all been cashed at once that was causing me to query whether it might be a bank error or the individuals error....Can you not see from previous statements/history whether these cheques have been cashed already.
Obviously you don't. And I don't think I said how much the cheques were for, or even that they were for a regular set amount - you have made an assumption based on my stated overdraft. But thanks anywayI obviously don't know your circumstances but I'd love to be in a position not to know that £200 a month hadn't been taken

OK - hands up I made an assumption based on the below and I missed the 'overdrawn' bitAlexSuffolk wrote: »which has left me 1K overdrawn.0
