It depends on what you want from a bank account and how much is going to be paid into it each month.
If your having up to £1k in payments going into an account, then you might want to consider opening a Halifax rewards account as that will pay you £5 every month that £1k goes into it.
Possibly a Lloyds TSB Classic account with vantage as that will pay up to 4% tier interest depending on how much you have in your account.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
Thanks, I will be investing otherwise with part of my lump sum but am really looking to see what is the best accounts for a regular monthly income, exact amount unkown yet, as its not till end of year before I retire but circa £650 - £850 p/m depending on which permetation I choose on my overall lump sum.

What is it you want to do with the £650 - £850? Is is money you are living from? If so, why not just use your existing current account? Or do as dr_adidas01 suggested (he was not talking about investments!)
If not, are you looking for a savings account? Have you read the banking/savings article on the main site? http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/0
