Makes sense, if the card was not put through the door, could I get royal mail to resend it for free? As it was their fault?

Bit surprised I haven't heard anything from the buyer, the book cost just under £40. If I hadn't got the item and paid that much, I would have sent me a message at the very least. I thought it had been delivered successfully.

Anyway, good job I put a return address on it, or it could have been lost in the postoffice forever.

So RM should kick down the door if an item wont fit?

No, the problem is that they sometimes don't leave the red card, or even post to the wrong house. This has happened to us, and to someone we know. Who only found out about a parcel when their neighbours came around with the card. In this case it could vanish, and the seller could be accused of trying to scam the buyer or vice versa. When it was nobodies fault.

So you have decided this is the case here?
  • Happens now and then with Amazon and despite emailing the customers some are never heard from again....

I find it very odd as some of the parcels have been £50 plus and not a peep.

Some people have more money than sense. What do you do in such a case? Technically the item still belongs to the buyer, even if they seem disinterested in it. Are there thousands of item stuck in amazon limbo, that don't really belong to anyone?

I don't know, not being an all knowing divine being(allas). In my original post I did say it could have been a mistake by the buyer, deciding not to pick up the parcel.

It does seem implausible, considering the price. However others have posted saying that people do forgot about expensive items. All I can really conclude is there is nowt as queer as folk, and hope I don't end up out of pocket.

I email upon receipt of the return and if no reply keep it to one side in case they eventually reply. After 60 days from the order date I'll refund minus the actual postage costs to me.

The thing I found with the red cards, is not that they are not delivered, although it does happen sometimes, is that they are thrown away with all the leaflets that RM are sending out.

I've got loads of returned orders sat here waiting! I always photograph the front of the package with the RM sticker on and send it as part of the Amazon message when I contact the buyer to say their item has been returned. So far, not a single one has replied to me to say if they want it sent again or want a refund!

Very strange, why would someone order a book, not worry when it doesn't arrive, then ignore a message about it?

So you don't have to refund the full amount? That seems to be the way forward then if I get no reply.
