New kitten chewing everything

Just need some opinions on whats best to buy to put him off snacking on my table leg!

I've read so many reviews on products to help stop this what are the best? I don't want to waste money on something that's not going to work. Or if the shop bought stuff isn't any good is there anything natural? I think I read something about cats hating citrus so perhaps buying a few lemons? Cheap plus it smells good too!

Thanks in advance

Oh and just because I think he's quite possibly the cutest little furball I've ever laid eyes on I'm going to show him off :D

Ferb (as in Phineas and Ferb thanks to DS)

Not great quality but I love it. He's only been home since Tuesday so not quite sure of everything yet. He'll happily lay his head on the rug but won't get any closer :D

Oh, so sweet ! What a beautiful little lad. Don't have any tips I'm afraid (we too have a little kitty that seems to think the radio aerial is a personal chew toy), but had to say what a little beauty he is

You're right that they hate citrus. Rubbing a lemon skin or orange skin on the table leg should be enough to make him stay away.

    He's super cute btw.
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire
  • Or wrap the table leg in tin foil, they hate tin foil too.

    Nope. He doesn't believe me.

Have you grown oat grass for him to chew on? Also toys made from large feathers or real fur (byproduct of meat industry) or untreated leather?

  • Bitter apple spray can be effective. One of our nice ferrets licked my hand while I was "wearing" the spray today (handling savage ferret beforehand) and her poor little face turned inside out!!!

OP - he is soooooooooooooooooooo cute.. I would just get another table and let him have his fun ;)

On a serious note though - does he have a scratching post?

I know Dizz has 3. And your legs. And the rest of the house.

The question was actually to OP ;)

Have you tried the pet training spray they do in pet shops? My Dad used to be in the pet trade (supplied pet shops etc) and they swear by it. It has pepper or something in it and it's stopped both our dog and our cats from chomping! It also does have a faint citrus smell. I think it was only a couple of quid, but well worth my sofa and walls! (Luna as a puppy had a taste for the walls)
