It's really very straightforward, assuming you're not in debt to the company.
Firstly, look back at your bills for the last 12-18 months and calculate your annual consumption in kWh.
Then, go on one of the comparison sites such as moneysupermarket . com or uswitch. If you click the 'Utilities and Phones' link immediately under the banner right at the top of every MSE page, you'll find more info on some of the switching sites.
Input your details, and the current tariff you're on (if you know it; if you don't then it isn't too important, just select standard) and the site will show you which deals are cheapest based on your information.
It's always worth checking out whether you'd get any cashback on e.g. quidco or topcashback to make a particular deal cheaper overall.
Once you've decided which one to go for, you can switch either through quidco or the switch site. It's very easy, just follow the steps.
I just did it with moneysupermarket . com and so far, so good.0 -

Your annual statement will show your annual usage in kWH, or the current supplier can tell you.
Do not input monthly DD amounts on the comp sites, as this produces inaccurate results.
Once you have switched via a comp site or cashback site, the transfer will take 4-5 weeks. No free lunch, and no free laptop
