Opening our first Joint Account

We are looking into opening our first joint account together to use to pay our salaries into and bills out of, however I am struggling to find any information on which have the best benefits.

Can any current account be made into a joint account? such as the Halifax £5 rewards account

Does anyone have any suggestions on which banks/accounts are best for joint accounts?

This is a question that comes up regularly on the boards.

Most accounts can be opened as joint accounts, so the decision on which is best is pretty much the same as the decision on which is best for sole accounts.

The Halifax currently allows customers to have one sole and one joint reward account, so many people have a joint account with them for the purpose of getting another £5 per month from them.

Yes, almost any current account can be made joint.

If you are wanting any packaged accounts (ie free insurance etc) then it is generally best to have this as the joint account as both parties get the benefits with only 1 fee to be paid
