DLA higher rate mobility award - any other entitlements?

Hi!
My wife has been awarded the mobility component at the higher rate for Disability Living Allowance. Reading the blurb that comes with the award it appears she is entitled to free road tax and possibly free public transport. She already has a blue badge. Is there anything else she's entitled to as a result of this award?
Would it make any difference to the child tax credit she receives or the council tax she is charged?
Thanks alot
Kevin

She should notify the Council Tax department, as it may be she'd be entitled to a higher rebate, but other than that, DLA is not counted as income.
Not sure about tax credits.
She can, if she wants to, lease a Motability car now - I do this and it takes the hassle out of car owning - but she will generally (although not always) have to use all of her mobility payment to pay for it.
She is entitled to free tax, although the rules state that the car tax is only "legal" if she is in the car - which causes no end of confusion, as it doesn't make sense really. There are discussions going on at the moment to try to clarify this, I believe.
Some areas (like London) give out Freedom Passes which means free train, tube and buses - other areas is just buses. Your local council will have details of this.
She can obtain a Disabled Rail Travellers card, which costs £18 per years, and entitles her and a companion to a third (usually) off of all train journeys.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

We were told by council tax department that it is the care side of the DLA that qualifys for higher rebates. As other half gets the middle care we do not pay c/tax and get really good rent rebate.0
