I joined a gym and they messed up my direct deb payments, I found out that a lot of them are from the job centre on a 3wk trial thing. and they are working with money and accounts, now this is a concern, because they are there for a short time, not only can they not be trained properly or remain at the job, that means that they are not CRB checked either and dealing with peoples account information.
Whether the person be from another job or job centre or abroad, if they are not checked then how would people know if they are trust worthy?
I am not being biased to anyone dont get me wrong here, as I have been in that same situation with signing on and where they force people into things for short periods of which is no help to anyone. Some time back I had to work in a charity shop when I had no employment for a while and that was totally out of my field of what work I do as well. Come to think of it, they never gave me a CRB check back then either and I was working with cash as well. But they said I had to work there so many hours a day for five days.
I could have had a criminal record or anything for all they could have known. I mean I dont! but they dont know that do they.
Do you think that people who do accounts work for gyms on a permanent basis are CRB checked?0 -
You don't have to be CRB checked for this type of work regardless of how you came into the role.
These are purely to protect society's most vulnerable people, for example people working with children, vulnerable families, etc etc. In reality they are valid up until the point the check comes through and used generally alongside other comprehensive recruitment processes to safeguard people. They are repeated every 3 years.0 -

So why do some people have to be CRB'd for a job in a warehouse when not dealing with vulnerable adults and children.0
