Plasterboard help

Is it OK to replace a small area of 9mm plasterboard with 12mm board before skimming, or will the difference in thickness be a problem for the plasterer?
I need to replace a strip about 30cm high directly below the ceiling that was applied wonky, which really annoys me. I have plenty of 12mm board but no 9mm, hence the question.

it really depends how naff you want the finished job to look & how much you want to p1ss off the plasterer, b&q do cut sheets & if there is a damaged sheet then they will prob knock quite a bit off the price, do the job properly & get some 9mm don't bodge it.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Wickes and B&Q sell something called wallboard which is 9mm and comes in small sheets, only about £3 each. It'll fit in your car, unless you have something silly.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0

Thanks for the advice! As the whole idea of this was to undo a bodge from when the house was built I don't want to create another one.
For some reason they had used a much thicker piece of timber for studwork at ceiling level than the one 30cm below, so the top strip of plasterboard wasn't vertical.Solar install June 2022, Bath
