Vent and rant about the car cleaning services in car parks (and other people touting)

We have "Heros" car wash at the local Sainsburys, they never bothered me when I had my N reg Charade, I bet I get swamped now I've got a 62 plate car.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

A few weeks ago we took our car to our regular hand car wash in a multi-storey in town.
Drove out afterwards and as soon as we were in daylight realised they'd scratched the windscreen and all the windows.
Fortunately the paintwork was OK. We paid our insurance company the £75 to get the windscreen replaced. Haven't bothered with the other windows as it'll cost a small fortune to replace them all and they're only fine scratches.
Wish we'd noticed while we were still with the car wash people, but I bet they'd still have said it was like that to start with.
If I have time for fun with these outfits, I ask them for a copy of their public liability insurance policy. It always does the trick.0 -

Do we really need that many? They are almost matched by the amount of takeaways.
Cities are becoming very scruffy.
I worked for a foam wash and valet centre when I was in between jobs. Mostly used by taxi drivers and the council. Wednesdays were a nightmare when the refuse lorries used to pile in. They would stink and you'd get covered in all the !!!!! out the back when using the jetwash on them.0 -

Hahaha - you've just reminded me of doing sainsbury's refits. They used to take one look at my van and go pale. I'd owned it three years and at no point in thar period had it ever been washed. I kept hassling them to do it :rotfl:Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -

Condescension from someone who steers clear of punctuation and uses the word 'specially' in place of 'especially'. I hope that no immigrants are reading this because you are embarrassing me in front of them.0 -
They drive me nuts the ones in Sainsbury's carpark if I wanted my car washing I would take it to be washed, I'm never in there long enough for it to be washed and I get a filthy look for saying no!

In general, it's not too difficult to tell.
The odds are that if someone is Negroid, then he or she will either be African or of African descent.0 -

By that token, we're all Africans.

Yes, you will!
I don't usually use the Multi-Storey, and they always left me alone when I had my '07', but the minute I got my '60' (black S-Max), they occasionally did it, when I got my '61' (white S-Max) they did it every time, and now I've got my '62' (also white, and one of the latest model Jags) they're piling in to let them do it!
I've not given in yet, as fleet wash/hoover it every few days for me. I'd rather pay my own staff to do my car, with them knowing that if they damage it, they'll probably be out the job!

Chuggers are a nightmare. Handing out financial details in the street? No thanks! Not sure how that's legal to be honest.0
