MOT problem, advice needed
Hi
This is my first post on this sections, so apologies if post it in the wrong place….
I took my car for MOT test today. It passed, but….
My engine seems to be overheating now. This is really strange, as it never did so before. The gage on the dashboard always stayed at the same place and never moved from its mid point.
When we picked the car tonight, the gage went straight in red, and the mechanic said, by the way, your engine is overheating.
Now, me thinking, how come my car passed MOT with an overheating engine? My driver’s manual reads that it can damage the engine.
We have checked the water and the coolant = all topped up, etc.
I went to complain about it, but the garage told me that it was not their problem. They had to rev the engine for the test, and if it now overheats, so be it.
I am now afraid to drive in case the bonnet blows up…
What shall I do? Probably try to find somebody to fix it…? How much will it be…..?
Have I been coned?
Oh, God! So many questions…

hmm.. . I have a feeling they messed us about.
First they said they would call in two hour after we checked in the car, and they did not. My OH was spent whole day by the phone. When we called them four hours later, they quoted one price, when we picked up the car, the price was different (a £5 difference, but still).
Then, I put my car through a wash yesterday and the wheels' covers were spotless. now they looked like I drove on motorway....
it is all a bit stinky0
