I always enter Shortlist comps via FF with no problems.
Are you running any FF add-ons such as NoScript ? If so you'll need to make sure you allow full access for Shortlist page and it should then load and run fine in FF (the same goes for Stylist.co.uk comps, as they appear to be from the same publisher).
My internal monologue needs new writers.

Entered fine with Firefox also, no issues with a vanilla version of it here on a mac.0

Thanks for that but unfortunately I have very few add-ons installed and NoScript isn't one of them.Growing old is unavoidable. However, growing up is still optional.0 -

I suggest disabling all of your FF add-ons and seeing if that makes any difference.
If that doesn't help I suspect you have internet security / antivirus software installed that may be preventing the site from loading correctly by blocking javascript on it. You'll need to consult the vendor's help files / tech support to determine how to adjust the relevant settings and allow the site to load fully.
