Hi I wonder if anyone can advise me of the new boilers to replace above as Ive been informed you cant just replace one combi boiler with another now as you require the new "energy efficient" condensing boiler. I am a bit puzzled as I only want another combi but have been informed I may need new pipework to connect to the drain !! If anyone can advise of this new type boiler I would very much appreciate it shrewdalx

Because all new boilers must be of the condensing type by law (with very, very rare exceptions) and that will require a drain to take the condensate away and your existing one probably isn't a condensing type.
