key broke in bicycle lock - help !

I was trying to unlock the D Lock on my bike today and the key broke off in it. Can't get that portion out. Can't turn it (to open the lock). Completely stuck.

It's a heavy duty lock (Master Lock) and I bought it at a Cycle Fair back in June so I can't even take it back to the shop I bought it from.

How do I get it off my bike ???

Try a locksmith (if you can't pick it out yourself).

Use a pair of fine tweezers to grab what's left of the key and (hopefully) pull it out. Then use the spare key.

You need broken key extractors, locksmiths carry them. Removing the broken part can be difficult in some cases. Can you see any space around the key? Can you put a photo up?

And you can buy a 4" grinderette for about £20 these days, and you get years of use elswhere for it.

any builders near by with a stihl saw? bung them a drink im sure they cut it off then get a new lock
