Policy Renewal Not Cancelled

Just a quickey here.

My insurance company recently sent me a renewal quote which was ridiculous. I phoned and told them not to renew and applied for a brand new policy with the same company for half the price, and paid the whole lot on the spot.

Yesterday they took payment from me for the full original policy. I called them, they admitted their mistake and have told me I will get a refund in 7-10 days.

I don't, but I could very well have needed that money. Am I due any compensation for the money they stole?

Thanks.

You could get it back quickly if it was taken by dd. The dd guarantee will apply.

Contact your bank and tell them this was an unauthorised transaction and they will credit your account immediately and sort it out with the insurer.

As far as compensation is concerned, you can certainly get them to reimburse you for any costs you have incurred. That's all!

They haven't "stolen" your money, they have made a "mistake"!
