ATM fraud - Bury area

Hoyles10, Yes it was that machine. When did it happen to you and have you or any of your friends been affected recently at that particular machine? Must admit I didn't get much help from the staff inside the Co-op itself - they just reiterated it wasn't their problem, although one kind member of staff did phone the engineers to try and get them out on the day. They phoned me back about 10 mins later to say they could not come out that day but would sort the ATM when they replenished it 2 days later. Then... whilst I was on the phone to my bank and discovering the fraudulent transactions (within the hour) Co-op phoned back again to say the engineer (?!) had been and checked the machine and my card was not in there so cancel my card. All very odd and I suspect it wasn't the real engineers who checked the machine, hence I reported it to the police even though it is the bank who should report the crime. Good job I did as the bank has cocked up and only reported it as an ATM issue on the day and then as fraud yesterday. Helpful guy in the fraud team checked for me and the 2 fraudulent transactions apparently took place at Tesco Express ATM down Bury Road. Please don't use this machine and warn your friends - I don't want it to happen to anyone else. Thanks for your reply though!0

If you cover your hands up when you enter your PIN, these types of frauds do not normally happen as they need your PIN to be able to withdraw money
Don't they sometimes put little cameras above the entrypad? (think I heard/read that somewhere), so even if someone is not loitering or looking over your shoulder, hand right above numbers you press should stop it.*Look for advice, not 'advise'*
*Could/should/would HAVE please!*

You reported this to Bury Police?
I hope you aint expecting anything more than a crime number. Bury Police are beyond useless.
I know this first hand0 -

Yes they used to use a camera to se the pin being entered, i cover the pin pad up anyway just to be on the safe side.0 -
I drop my wallet over my hand on the pin keypad, and input it from feel.
Might look daft, but it takes for someone to be openly scammed before they learn.
Once had a family member who shared there PIN with a relative. That relative borrowed some £££ from there account. Bank/Police would not do anything as the PIN was used.0 -

For the few times I use an ATM I always inspect it thoroughly, try to pull the front off - look for camera holes etc.
And always cover the keypad when entering the PIN.
So far I have not been scammed or found a dodgy one.0 -
