Scottish gas prepayment statement in debit??

Hi there,

Sorry new to joining the forum and wondered if someone else on here has had problems like mine....

I have had a prepayment with Scottish Power for about 3 years+ now and paid off the debt ages ago but though after it was cleared that i would leave the meter as it was so that i didnt get any nasty bills in the future and stick with the key.

I have just had a prepayment electricity statement (estimated use) delivered by postman pat this morning...Upon looking at the statement it is saying that total charges are more than payments made and the account balance is showing £67.40 in debit.!!!!

I do not owe anything to SP since the debt was repaid in full a long time ago now and wonder just how can a prepay meter get into debt from normal daily use???

Any help/advice greatly appreciated:D

Have you spoken to the supplier over this? Have you given them an actual meter reading?

    Hi stickney,

Can you please e-mail me your details at onlinecomplaints@scottishpower.com

This shouldn’t be anything to worry about you are sent an annual statements to show your usage payments made ect, this is not a bill due for payment. Sometimes payments you make in the shop take a week or so to come from the paypoint and therefore can show debts or any monies in your meter still to use can show as a credit on statements. Best thing is to e-mail me a reading and details of any payments made in the last week or so and I can put your mind at rest.

    Thanks
