Energy Reduction UK - they installed panels - now what ?

    If the panels and inverter are workIng, then he will be getting some free kWh. But that doesn't automatically mean a reduction in his bills or DD. What you need to check is whether his annual kWh usage has dropped after installation.
    But if so, it probably won'r be a reduction of the scale often promised by the installers of such systems.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    However the immediate problem is to ensure your Uncle is using the PV system correctly to make some savings.


    As said above if he leaves on immersion heaters 24/7 etc(assuming he has gas/oil CH) he can well find his electricity bills are higher.


    He needs to understand that the objective is to match, as near as possible, internal consumption to that generated by the solar panels.
