I'm living in a flat with no fridge at the moment. I'm not keeping meat or milk in the house but everything else (firm vegetables, eggs, cheese - only for a couple of days though!) seems fine as the kitchen is quite cool.0

I store my carrots like this. Take them out of the plastic bag, wrap them in two layers of newspaper, put them back in the plastic bag and store them in the fridge. I do the same for pasnips and they last for ages.0 -

Now this is the reason I'm trying to find space. I have got rid of the fridge/freezer in the dining room to have a seperate fridge in the kitchen.
I have reclaimed the dolls triple bunk bed shhhh :shhh: and put the veg in it at the side of the fridge. I've put some of the cleaning stuff in a slimline storage unit that has gone under the worktop in the conservatory, how did I get so much cleaning stuff.I'm really good at using up toiletries but not cleaning stuff. I must prefer bathing to cleaning
. Will see how I get on with the veg there. I can always swap things about.

I got my veg rack from Dunelm Mill.
I keep potatoes for the next few days (in cotton bag), onions, garlic, squashes, cauliflower in it. Everything else stays in the box (veg box delivery) in my brick outhouse next to my bike and I just bring things in as I need them. I put salad stuff in the fridge. Citrus fruit I put in the fruit bowl on the sideboard in the dining room, although I'll have to watch it as it gets quite warm in there in the summer.0 -
Chrome style ones I found in Tesco and Home Bargains. I use them to store other things on aswell. Home bargains was the cheapest, about £7 I think, 3 tier. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
I got my chrome veg rack from Argos too, I believe, although I remember seeing some when I was out the other day..... Debenhams? (can't recall) However, most of the kitchen shops/depts do them as well as the Home Bargains type shops. Mine has casters on which used to fall off when I lifted it slightly so a bit of sticky tape around the prong before it went into the caster has worked wonders.
My veg rack lives under the stairs where it's cold and dark. I have a large fridge so carrots, salads etc go in there. My dad always used to buy 56lb sacks of spuds from the market - they were kept in an outhouse with no problems.0
