I would normally say go to the independent but this is a new car to you and it could be worth going one last time to the main dealer, you just never know what might crop up and with luck there might still be a bit of goodwill if there is anything major wrong. Next time definitely the independent.0

That's a good idea actually. Given that its JUST out of warranty if anything major did go wrong and you had full main dealer history you'd stand a good chance of a goodwill gesture.I would normally say go to the independent but this is a new car to you and it could be worth going one last time to the main dealer, you just never know what might crop up and with luck there might still be a bit of goodwill if there is anything major wrong. See if you have a local Lexus specialist, expect to pay a little more than the indie garage but they should have proper diagnostics and be experienced with that car.

My local ford dealer quoted £100 an hour for a fault my car went in with.. that was the hourly charge to 'inspect' the issue. I bet the guy doing it got maybe £12 an hour?0

What has that to do with anything? The guy doing it won't be forking out for lighting, heating, business rates, building rental, insurance etc.0 -
From the Ford website.
If my vehicle is serviced at a non Ford Dealer, will my Ford warranty be invalidated?
No, but you must ensure that:
Your vehicle is serviced as recommended by Ford (timing and content).
Your vehicle is serviced using genuine Ford branded parts or parts that match the quality of genuine Ford branded parts.
Your vehicles Maintenance Record is completed and receipts are retained as evidence that the vehicle has been serviced at the correct intervals, in line with Ford Service Schedules, using the correct parts and fluids. This will assist in the event of a warranty claim for defects that may be influenced by incorrect maintenance intervals or content.0 -
well half of it is high labour costs the other half is parts they charge you three times for the same part made by the same manufacturer all that is different about the part is that it comes in a lexus box that they dont even give youHi All,
I was hoping to get some opinions on this. I recently bought a Lexus 4X4, it now needs servicing, Lexus dealership have quoted £529 for a full service. Another garage which I have used before has quoted £251 incl MOT. Why such difference in price? is it really better to take it to the dealership? I just cant see the difference. My husband on the other hand wants to take it to the Lexus dealership, I just cant seem to justify the extra price. A bit confused a to what the best thing would be0
