Atos further medical.

My Son was awarded ESA Support Group which is due for review in November.
Assuming he has to attend another medical, would I be able to give my view of his Mental Health issues.DWP have letter confirming that I deal with all correspondence.
Despite living 30 miles away I speak to him daily.
He lives alone.

You can go if you want but they will want to hear from him directly, it's him they will be asking the questions to. I have heard that sometimes they don't allow a second person in the room but I think they usually do.

Couldn't you possibly request the ESA85(a) and ESA113 associated with the last assesment and get a letter/fit note from GP stating your son's condition is unchanged and send these off, presumably, he won't be required to attend a medical then?
  • You could help fill in the ESA50 form.. details are on the form. But as above I'd say that if you are to make effort to support claim you might be better advised to focus as Dekota says. Try to make case that he hasn't improved and get supportive medical evidence. Put ATOS under pressure to decide a medical isn't necessary and that advice should mirror that of last time. I'd include, when returning ESA50, the last ESA85/ESA85A if it is recommending support group... and ESA113 (GP form) similarly if it exists and is supportive.

But I would think completing the ESA50 is going to be a fairly big challenge to him... it is perhaps this where you could be big help... remember you can complete electronic pdf version... although it still needs to be printed, signed etc and posted come appropriate time.
