E: 31/10 Win a holiday for two on the east coast of Mauritius, at Le Touessrok

Where are you? October 2012

Enter this month's Where Are You? competition and you could win a holiday for two on the east coast of Mauritius, at Le Touessrok. The prize, worth £10,000, includes seven nights' half-board accommodation in a Deluxe room, return flights from Heathrow with Air Mauritius and transfers. It is subject to availability and must be taken by 30 September 2013, excluding Christmas, New Year, Easter and school holidays.

To enter this competition you will need to turn to page 194-195 of the October 2012 issue, and identify the national park and country where the photograph was taken. Make sure to send your entry to arrive by 31 October 2012.

Clue:
Like a row of palm-topped soldiers, these tiny, floating bamboo huts stand to attention across the still surface of the lake. They are flanked to the rear by towering limestone cliffs and the oldest evergreen rainforest in the world, which in the early morning echoes with a chorus of gibbons. These agile apes may make the most noise, but they don't have the jungle to themselves: its 300 species of tree also shelter elephants, tigers and clouded leopards. The lake is the shimmering centrepiece of a 739sq km national park in the south of an Asian country known for its secret beaches and lunar festivities. Despite the sleepy setting, it has not always been so peaceful here. In the 1970s the area was a hideout for students who opposed the military dictatorship. Their guerrilla attacks also discouraged loggers and miners, thus helping to preserve the mighty forest.

ANSWER: Khao Sok National Park, Thailand (Thanks to jambodaveprince :T)
