Citibank Plus - Direct debits

Hello

quick question - i have a citibank plus account and need to setup two direct debits to avoid the monthly charge.

one i have set up is paypal (never used), is there another similar one that can just sit dormant and not take money out monthly, that anyone can think of?

i have the account as i need their USD account and its a requirement.

If you have a direct debit mandate on the account and no payment is taken for 12 months you could find that it gets deleted by the bank!.

The direct debits have to come out monthly to avoid the charge. I know this as last month my paypal dd didnt come out as i hadnt bought anything and i was charged the £8 fee

that sucks (esp as i dont think it explicitly states this in t&c's)

maybe just withdraw £1 p/m into paypal?
