Thinking of investing in some Fleece underblankets for the beds and have spotted some online (silent night ones) for around £22 for the 2 beds.
Are they worth getting or not as this year going to try and not have the heating on overnight to save money.

I have one, which goes on when the weather is cold, and I love it. I got it from ASDA last summer as they had some discounted. It keeps the bed so warm and cosy, you won't want to ever leave it on a cold winters day!0

I use the cheap tesco 4 tog duvets for underblankets in the winter - may work out slightly cheaper as I cant remember what I paid for them, so snuggly and toasty!Every days a School day!0

I have a spare duvet so I put it on the bed first and sleep on top of it. I am sandwiched between two duvets, very snug, it's like a nest.

Yes definitely worth it. I use a spare quilt under the bottom sheet, it makes it warm and also very soft. It's saving me having to buy a new mattress for a while! Plus it's said you should have as much blankets etc under you as above you as you lose heat through the bed as well as up into the room.0

In the winter we have fleece blankets which we put on top of us and the duvets on top. So much warmer than putting the blankets on top of the duvets. They only cost a couple of pounds too (they're not heated ones just fleece).0

You can buy fleeces from Ikea for £1.60 which would do the same job for a fraction of the price IMO.0

DS had one, but if anything he got too hot with it. I think a hot water bottle in the bed for a while before you go in to warm it up while you fall asleep works best (though obviously don't leave littlies with hot bottles!).Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Thank you for all your replies. Think I will try putting the summer duvets under the sheets to see how it goes, didn't really want to spend on the underblankets as really trying to be super frugal to pay of some bills.

I've done the summer duvets under the bottom sheet too and it's so warm and comfy. Ds2 got too hot though and i'd go in to check on him and he'd be pouring with sweat so took it off his.0

I also do the duvet sandwich. Over the past couple of years I have replaced the ancient duvets and resited them underneath. Gorgeous. I don't like a warm bedroom but do like to be warm in bed. One night I was toasty warm in bed and woke up to find snow on my pillow. Really!I believe that friends are quiet angels
