Council Tax Snoopers right of entry

After the media frenzy about Council inspectors having the right of entry to our houses to photograph the interior and fines of £1000 followed by a further £200 per day etc Can anyone say with any authority if this is to become law or if it is just the media whipping up a storm?

This is not a media frenzy. It's all part of the current of government at the moment. The House of Lords has commented that our future Government plans make China's civil liberty and privacy laws look good, it's got that bad. It's not till you start looking into it all in detail that your hair stands on end. We're not used to this kind of stuff in this country.

I'm not a political person but the proposals have stirred me to action. These things will all pass through the Commons and become law unless we take action to put the government back in its place - providing services, not controlling people. The tail's trying to wag the dog at the moment.

So in short - not yet passed into law but definitely announced as being on the government agenda.
