Well obviously i left my shopping behind although we actually need milk but i was so angry and humiliated by that point .
To say i'm incensed is an understatement, I'm really annoyed  mostly because this was from a non glitched shop so they can see it's a big spend on regular stuff, i was trying to buy glitchy stuff in amongst other stuff we need which goes without saying but so what.
Right Elite, i need your help what to do now? Obviously i need to speak to HO about this appalling treatment? but who do I speak to at HO? Is there a dept for APG or have others spoken to general CS at HO? OR have you gone higher? i'm not in best of health so could've done without the aggro but i know it goes with the territory. I just hate the fact they try to criminalise us for taking them up on their own marketing. Besides I don’t see why I or anyone else should have to queue up at a stores CS to have their voucher checked before being able to use it. That definitely isn’t in T’s & C’s.
Sorry about the experience you had - it sounds like one of the worst yet!
I had a bad trouting in one store awhile back and to be honest contacting the Asda helpline about it didn't achieve anything positive for me as they recorded the details but they didn't offer a giftcard or anything like that and I've never had a call back or apology from the store. In retrospect, I'd have been better off not contacting them - it doesn't always make things better.
Nevertheless, I was thinking about the effect it had and that ironically the cost to Asda when their employees refuse to accept an APG can go up rather than down. If you have to pay cash for your shopping instead of redeeming an APG then by the end of that day you can have nearly twice the value of APGs (assuming you're expecting a high % back; you still have the one they wouldn't let you spend, plus you probably have another as a result of the shopping you did). Then the next time you visit Asda, you should be able to buy twice as much before spending a penny of your own cash... until the next time they refuse your APGs and then again if you pay for everything in cash you end up with double the amount of APGs to spend for next time... and so on and so on... the Asda losses actually multiply! The grumpy managers have made Asda's problem much worse!
So, I'd suggest to do what you think best regarding the Asda helpline or Head Office, but keep trying to spend the APGs. If you have to pay cash instead it might actually work out to your advantage, especially if you can get to another store where hopefully they'll be more welcoming and happily accept your APGs (no guarantee though, obviously).
If you do get stuck with APGs you can try asking the helpline to transfer them onto a giftcard for you (in return for sending them your receipt by post); they did offer to do that for me, but I didn't take it up. I figured it was easier just to try again, which worked out fine! Good luck!0 -
